IMS Noida Students Recognised for Social Impact with Health Fellowship

Noida, Apr 15: Rohit Singh Rawat, a second-year BCA student, and Abhay Srivastava, a first-year BCA student of IMS Noida, have been awarded a SDG Health Fellowship. The fellowship was conferred by Smart NGO in recognition of their outstanding contribution to promoting awareness about nutrition, sanitation, and women’s health in villages such as Makanpur, Kanawani, and Sarfabad. Their efforts were carried out through the Salam Namaste Community Radio under the “Sehat Sahi Laabh Kai” campaign.

Expressing his happiness on this achievement, IMS Noida President Mr. Rajeev Kumar Gupta stated that such initiatives not only inspire students to understand their social responsibilities but also expose them to real-life challenges. He emphasized that these experiences help develop leadership skills, sensitivity, and awareness towards social issues. He added that such engagements play a crucial role in the overall personality development of students and motivate them to become responsible and aware citizens. He also expressed pride that IMS students are actively contributing to society alongside their academic pursuits and are playing a meaningful role in bringing positive change.

Station Head of Salam Namaste, Ms. Barsha Chhabaria, shared that both students actively participated in various community awareness campaigns, health programs, and outreach activities while working with the community radio. They played a significant role in spreading awareness through outreach and narrowcasting of health-related radio programs. In recognition of their excellent performance, dedication, and efficiency, they were awarded the fellowship along with certificates of appreciation.

Head of the Department, School of IT, Professor (Dr.) Ajay Kumar Gupta, stated that Rohit Singh Rawat and Abhay Srivastava have carried out commendable work in raising awareness about nutrition, sanitation, and women’s health in rural areas through Salam Namaste Community Radio. Their dedication and passion for social service serve as an inspiration for today’s youth and present a strong example of community empowerment.
