Mumbai, Aug 11: Equirus, one of India’s diversified financial services groups,announced the elevation of Munish Aggarwal and Sandeep Gogia as Co-Heads of its Investment Banking business. The leadership transition marks the next phase in the evolution of Equirus’ Investment Banking franchise, with the two senior bankers bringing deep sector expertise and a strong track record of executing marquee transactions across industries.

With close to two decades of association with the Equirus Group, Munish and Sandeep have each played a significant role in building the Investment Banking business and leading two of its largest sector franchises
Munish Aggarwal has over 25 years of experience across investment banking and capital markets in India and South-East Asia. He has been associated with Equirus for over 18 years and has been instrumental in building the firm’s Industrials franchise, where he has led multiple marquee transactions.
Sandeep Gogia brings over 28 years of experience across investment banking, advisory, ECM and management, with expertise spanning technology, digital, manufacturing and education. He has been associated with the Equirus Group for close to two decades, having previously been with Wizarth Advisors, a boutique investment banking firm specialising in financial advisory services for cross-border M&A transactions, which subsequently merged with Equirus Capital.
This strategic leadership transition follows the significant growth of Equirus’ Investment Banking business under the leadership of Bhavesh A Shah. Bhavesh has led the Investment Banking vertical at Equirus since 2020 and brings over 30 years of experience across investment banking, capital markets and equity research. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in strengthening the firm’s Investment Banking and ECM franchises and has been closely involved in originating and executing several significant and marquee transactions across the Private Equity and capital markets space.
As he transitions into a broader Group leadership role, Bhavesh will focus on the Financial Sponsors Group and strengthening its integration with the Group’s Wealth platform.
The transition brings together three experienced leaders with complementary strengths, while reinforcing Equirus’ focus on building scalable businesses, deepening sector expertise and creating long-term value for clients.
