India’s Security and Facility Management Sector Poised for 9–10 pc Growth in FY27

New Delhi, Aug 12: India’s organised security and facility management sector is expected to grow by 9–10 per cent in FY27, supported by increasing demand from manufacturing, warehousing, commercial properties and infrastructure projects.

The sector has seen strong expansion in recent years as businesses increasingly turn to professional agencies for security, housekeeping, maintenance and other facility-related services.

The organised segment recorded an estimated annual growth of around 15 per cent between FY23 and FY26. While growth is expected to moderate in FY27, the projected 9–10 per cent expansion indicates that demand remains healthy.

Manufacturing and logistics are expected to remain important drivers of growth. The expansion of factories, warehouses and industrial facilities is creating a need for round-the-clock security and professional facility management.

Commercial real estate and infrastructure development are also supporting demand as companies and institutions increasingly seek specialised service providers to manage their properties and operational requirements.

Technology is playing a growing role in the sector. Security companies are adopting surveillance systems, digital monitoring and other technology-enabled solutions alongside traditional manpower services. This is helping service providers improve efficiency and offer more integrated solutions to customers.

The sector also remains an important source of employment, with security personnel, housekeeping workers, technicians, supervisors and other support staff forming a large part of the workforce.

However, service providers continue to face challenges including rising labour costs, workforce availability and the need to invest in training and technology. Maintaining service quality while managing operating expenses will remain important for companies seeking sustainable growth.

The expected growth in FY27 reflects the broader expansion of India’s industrial and commercial ecosystem. As businesses invest in new facilities and modernise existing workplaces, demand for organised and technology-enabled support services is likely to remain steady.

The industry is gradually evolving from a largely manpower-driven model towards a more integrated approach that combines skilled personnel, technology and professional management.

With infrastructure and business activity continuing to expand, the security and facility management sector is expected to remain an important part of India’s services economy in the coming years.
