New Delhi, Mar 9: Punjab & Sind Bank celebrated International Women’s Day with a special programme at its Corporate Office, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to empowering women employees and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

The programme commenced with the arrival of staff members, followed by the Bank Anthem and a ceremonial lamp-lighting. Addressing the gathering, Swarup Kumar Saha, Managing Director & CEO and Executive Director of the bank, highlighted the institution’s continuous efforts to support and encourage women professionals within the organization.
The event was graced by renowned Paralympian, Padma Shri, Arjuna Award and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee, Deepa Malik, who attended as the keynote speaker. During her address, she shared her inspiring life journey with the women employees, explaining how she transformed personal challenges into strengths. She encouraged participants to remain determined, resilient, and confident while overcoming obstacles. Her motivational session deeply resonated with the audience.
To ensure wider participation, Dr. Malik’s address was also telecast via webinar across the bank’s offices nationwide, enabling women employees from different regions of India to join the programme and benefit from her message of perseverance and empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Swarup Kumar Saha emphasized the bank’s ongoing commitment to gender equality and employee well-being. He also highlighted several new initiatives introduced for women employees, including the establishment of crèche facilities at the Corporate Office and Head Office, aimed at supporting working mothers and helping them maintain a better work-life balance.
The event also featured engaging staff performances and a cultural programme presented by women employees, adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rashmita Kwatra, followed by high tea.
