&TV Actors Share Their Republic Day Celebration Plans and Patriotic Memories

As India gears up to celebrate its 77th Republic Day, &TV actors Priyamvada Kant (Latika in Gharwali Pedwali), Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0) share how they plan to celebrate the day, their childhood memories, and what the spirit of the nation means to them. From simple family traditions to reflecting on the country’s values, the actors express their pride and gratitude for being part of India’s diverse culture. Priyamvada Kant, who essays the role of Latika in Gharwali Pedwali, shares, “Republic Day has always held a very special place in my heart. As a child, it meant waking up early with my family to watch the parade on television, singing patriotic songs, and soaking in the festive spirit together. Those memories still feel very close to me. Even today, no matter how busy my schedule gets, I make it a point to begin the day by watching the Republic Day parade. Seeing our nation’s strength, diversity, and discipline on display fills me with immense pride. It also makes me deeply grateful to our armed forces, civic bodies, and countless unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep our country safe, organised, and thriving. This year, I plan to celebrate the day quietly with close friends, taking a moment to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a free and democratic nation, and to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributes to building a better India every single day.”

Geetanjali Mishra, who plays Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “Republic Day instantly takes me back to my school days, filled with rehearsals, patriotic plays, dances, and the joy of proudly wearing tricolour badges. Those moments shaped my love and respect for the country. Even today, the spirit of Republic Day reminds me that freedom comes with responsibility. I plan to celebrate the day with my family, watching the Republic Day parade and speaking to my nephews about the importance of our Constitution and the values it upholds. I want them to grow up in an India that is more compassionate, equal, and respectful towards everyone. As a citizen, I believe change begins at home, which is why I consciously try to instil strong values, kindness, and civic sense in my nephews. Through my work and everyday actions, I also strive to spread positivity and awareness, because small efforts, when multiplied, can help build a better and more inclusive India. Republic Day fills my heart with immense gratitude for our freedom fighters and renewed hope for the future of our nation.” Vidisha Srivastava, who is seen as Anita Bhabi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0, shares, “Republic Day, for me, is a celebration of pride, unity, and responsibility. Growing up, my parents always taught me that it’s not just another holiday, but a reminder of the values our nation stands for. I like to begin the day with the national anthem and watching the Republic Day parade, as it beautifully showcases India’s discipline, diversity, and strength. It fills me with immense pride. I also take some quiet time to reflect on how far our country has come and, more importantly, on the role we can play as individuals. I strongly believe in spreading kindness, equality, and respect in society, and I try to do my bit by promoting positivity, inclusivity, and awareness through my work and actions. Being an Indian is something I deeply cherish, and Republic Day reinforces my commitment to contributing towards a better, more compassionate society.”
