
Hyderabad, 15th August, 2026: NMDC, India’s largest iron ore producer, today announced its Q1 FY27 financial results. In the first quarter of FY27, the company produced 15.12 MT of iron ore, registering a 26% increase from 11.99 MT in Q1 FY26. Sales stood at 11.73 MT, compared with 11.52 MT in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, marking a year-on-year growth of 2%. With these figures, NMDC recorded a strong Q1 physical performance.
On the financial front, the national miner reported a robust Q1 FY27 performance, with turnover reaching Rs. 6,795 crore, compared with Rs. 6,634 crore in Q1 FY26, registering a growth of 2%. Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at Rs. 2,692 crore, compared with Rs. 2,644 crore in Q1 FY26, while EBITDA stood at Rs. 2,817 crore against Rs. 2,777 crore in the corresponding quarter. Profit After Tax (PAT) increased to Rs. 2,007 crore from Rs. 1,969 crore in Q1 FY26, recording a growth of 2%.

On this strong performance, Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD NMDC said, “NMDC has begun FY27 on a strong footing, with higher production and improved profitability reflecting the resilience of our operations and the discipline of our strategy. The momentum is firmly underway towards achieving our target of 60 million tonnes of production in the current financial year and scaling up to 100 million tonnes by 2030. Our focus is now on scaling volumes, improving productivity and unlocking greater value from our mineral resources. As India moves towards a larger and more self-reliant industrial economy, NMDC will continue to play a central role in securing the iron ore needed for the nation’s next phase of growth.”
