PVR INOX PICTURES HOSTS A SPECIAL SCREENING OF GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION IN DELHI, HONOURING INDIA’S DISASTER RESPONSE & ARMED FORCES

Jan, 8: PVR INOX Pictures hosted a special tribute screening of the intense disaster-action thriller Greenland 2: Migration in New Delhi, honouring India’s disaster response ecosystem and armed forces for their unwavering service and commitment to safeguarding lives in times of crisis.

The exclusive screening was organised in association with the National Disaster Management Authority National Institute of Disaster Management and the National Disaster Response Force with distinguished representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indian Armed Forces, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Aapda Mitras, Fire Services, Home Guard, and Civil Defence, also in attendance. 

The evening served as a salute to the courage, preparedness, and resilience of India’s frontline responders. Held at PVR ECX, YPCC Mall, Chanakyapuri, the event opened with an address by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar, Executive Director, PVR INOX Limited and Director, PVR INOX Pictures, who acknowledged the critical role played by disaster response teams and defence forces in protecting the nation during emergencies and natural calamities.

Greenland 2: Migration follows the perilous journey of a family navigating a post-apocalyptic world after a global catastrophe, reflecting themes of survival, coordination, leadership, and hope  values deeply embedded in the work of disaster management professionals and defence personnel. Headlined by Gerard Butler alongside Morena Baccarin and Roman Griffin Davis, the film offers a gripping and emotionally resonant cinematic experience. The screening reinforced the shared values between cinema and real-life heroism, highlighting how preparedness, teamwork, and human resilience remain central to overcoming the gravest of challenges.

Adding a meaningful dimension to the evening, Mr. Sanjeev Bijli, Executive Director, PVR INOX Limited, and Shri Rajendra Singh, Member & Head of Department, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), along with other eminent dignitaries, jointly unveiled a specially curated calendar on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The launch symbolized a collective commitment towards fostering awareness, preparedness, and resilience in the face of natural and human-induced disasters. The initiative underscored the shared responsibility of institutions and citizens alike in building a safer and more resilient nation.

Through this special tribute, PVR INOX Pictures reaffirmed its commitment to using cinema as a powerful platform to recognise, honour, and salute those who stand at the forefront during national and humanitarian crises, as Greenland 2: Migration releases in cinemas across India on 16th January.
