S&P Global Upgrades Sammaan Capital’s Long-Term International Rating to BB Outlook Stable

The international credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings has upgraded Sammaan Capital Limited’s long-term international credit rating to ‘BB-’ with a Stable Outlook, reflecting continued improvement in the company’s credit profile following the strategic investment by International Holding Company PJSC (IHC).

According to S&P Global Ratings, the upgrade is driven by expectations of a strengthened business profile, improved access to funding, sustained strong capitalization, and enhanced profitability prospects. The agency also highlighted the positive impact of the strategic partnership with IHC in supporting the company’s long-term growth trajectory.

This development follows a series of rating upgrades from leading domestic credit rating agencies. CRISIL upgraded the company’s long-term rating to ‘CRISIL AA+/Stable’ on April 9, 2026, followed by CARE Ratings upgrading it to ‘CARE AA+; Stable’ on May 12, 2026, and ICRA upgrading it to [ICRA]AA+/Stable’ on May 20, 2026. With the latest revision by S&P Global Ratings, all major rating agencies covering the company have now upgraded their outlooks following IHC’s investment on March 31, 2026.

The successive rating upgrades have already contributed to improved market confidence and a meaningful reduction in incremental borrowing costs. Enhanced funding access and a lower cost of capital are expected to further strengthen Sammaan Capital’s competitive position, support higher disbursement growth, and accelerate execution of its business strategy.
